Women, Banking, & Small Businesses |

Did you ever wonder what you could do with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Extension Studies in Psychology? Well, how about banking, for starters? That was the route taken by Teresa Cavanagh, ALB '85, who was named Director of Women-Owned Businesses, Community Reinvestment, and Emerging Markets for the Small Business Banking Group for BankBoston. Ms. Cavanagh's task is to create a long-term strategy to make that bank "the bank of choice" for women-owned business customers and other emerging markets. The BankBoston Small Business Banking Group manages a loan portfolio of more than $1 billion and serves some 100,000 customers with a professional staff of more than 300. Prior to joining BankBoston, Ms. Cavanagh headed a consulting firm specializing in small business marketing and held management posts with another Boston bank. A past president of the New England Bank Marketing Association, she is currently President of the Board of Directors for ARTSWorcester, where she resides. |
