2004-2005 HEAA Year in Pictures

The 2004 Lowell Lecture was delivered by Robert Brustein, founding director of the American Repertory Theatre, who spoke of “a kind of religious evolution (or devolution) in the twentieth century as seen through the plays of Ibsen, Strindberg, Chekhov, Brecht, and Beckett.”

Just a week later, Extension alumni and students cheered on Harvard Crimson Football against the Northeastern Huskies. Discounted tickets, picnic lunches, brilliant weather, and a 41–14 victory added up to a perfect day on campus.

The December holidays brought Harvard’s celebrated Kuumba Singers to the Grossman Common Room for a memorable evening of spirituals and popular favorites.

Extension alumni brought the Boston Landmarks Orchestra back to Sanders Theatre in February, as Music Director Charles Ansbacher conducted an all-Russian program featuring pianist Victoria Korchinskaya-Kogan.

Our annual Valentine’s Day dinner at the Faculty Club featured Lisa Kirschner’s rendition of classic jazz love songs.

May 14 brought alumni and graduating students to Boston’s Long Wharf, where they sailed off for a fun-filled day on George’s Island, part of Boston’s harbor park system. The group enjoyed a walking tour of historic Fort Warren and a sumptuous cookout.
