Melissa Byrd, '04, is a full time MBA student at Babson College in Wellesley, MA. She expects to graduate in May 2005 with a concentration in global management and marketing. Martina Colombo Adani, '04, is employed in the strategic planning and cost analysis department at Cassa Depositi e Prestiti SpA in Rome. Cassa Depositi e Prestiti is the major bank of the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance. Hideki Kano, '04, is employed at the New York City branch of the Japanese company, Marubeni. He is preparing to take the GMAT to begin graduate school. Kurt Loeffler, '04, became a CFA Charterholder in September 2004. He is vice president for US Bank's corporate banking division. Cassio Moura, '04, is manager of internal controls compliance at the Gillette Company. His team's responsibilities are to oversee the worldwide implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Blanca Moro, '04, resides in Madrid and is employed at Instituto Superiour de Empresa y Moda, the only fashion management school in Spain that issues an executive master in management of fashion companies. Ilke Yirik, '04, is employed by Kraft Foods as a sales information system analyst while she pursues a master's degree in business of information systems at Bosphorus University. She is an active member of the Harvard Club of Turkey and has met and developed friendships with other Harvard Extension School alumni in Turkey. Jorge Garcia Andrade, '03, is working as an internal auditor for Stanley Works, coordinating, reviewing, testing, and developing controls among Stanley businesses around the world. Lina M. Azuero, '03, is a purchasing agent for a flower importer based in Cambridge. Her firm imports some of their flowers from Colombia. Alejandro Bakir, '03, returned to Bolivia to develop the Barceló Chapare Tropical Resort. Melissa L. Johnson, '03, recently took a new position as manager of the Social Enterprise Initiative at Harvard Business School. Michael A. Lucido, Esq., '03, is employed at John Hancock Financial Services as a legal consultant in the bond and corporate finance department, reviewing fixed-income, private-placement bond investments for compliance and regulatory issues. In spring 2004 he completed the Boston Marathon. Ece Ozcan, '03, is employed in a family-owned company, Ertunc Ozcan Import & Representation, which imports medical equipment and lab supplies throughout Turkey. Mohammed Ali Shariff, '03, is pursuing a second master's degree from the Development Studies Institute (DESTIN) of the London School of Economics and Political Science in Development Management. He plans to graduate in September 2005. Gloria Bertozzi, '02, works in the international division of Banco do Brasil. She manages the needs of their global clients. Maria Eduarda Figueiredo, '02, is a financial manager for the food services company Lacomex. Kelly Greenhill, '02, completed a PhD at MIT in 2003 and is currency a postdoctoral research fellow at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government. Christina R. Hoefler, '02, is product manager in aftersales for the BMW Group in Munich. Her group is responsible for generating 90 million dollars in sales for the release of chemical products worldwide. Fei Li, '02, is an assistant in the management reporting division of Hartford Insurance Company in the GAAP area. Ana Riojas, '02, resides in Guatemala, where she manages a chocolate factory that exports confections to North America. She is also a coordinator for a nonprofit organization that manages event planning. Gilbert Rodgers, '02, currently teaches a graduate-level course in international energy policy via distance education for the Bush School of Government at Texas A&M University. He has also accepted the position of managing director of energy at Global Insight, Inc. Celine Sabate, '02, is director of special projects at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center Foundation in Berkeley, CA. Madelin Santana, '02, is a marketing specialist for Avery Dennison. She manages the Latin American market for all fasteners, swiftachs, and plastic and elastic staples. She also coordinates business development in the United States. Florencia Sorin, '02, relocated to Miami to pursue a career at Channel 41 WJAN, a Hispanic television station. She is a sales account executive who sells advertising and manages client portfolios. Tomomichi Takahata, '02, currently works for the international account division at SGS, the world's largest control and inspection company, which is based in Switzerland. Christophe Tartrou, '02, accepted the position of general director at Bull Senegal in September 2004. Olga Trzbinska, '02, is employed at New Balance in the dealer advertising program. She also handles additional projects in sales analysis and sales network mapping. She and her husband are the proud parents of Potrus, who arrived in February 2004. Giovanni Villamar, '02, is currently working at Vidal Partnership Hispanic Marketing Communications in New York, where he is senior account executive on the Heineken account. Heather C. Wynne (now Ullman), '02, relocated to Toronto, where she is associate director of annual giving and reunion coordinator for the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. Sharon Baghai, '01, works for the Bank of Montreal as a relationship manager in deposit broker services. Tonya N. Banks, '01, works in corporate communications as a business communications integrator for the General Motors manufacturing facility in Pontiac, MI. Ricardo Castro Morales, '01, was accepted to the London Business School MBA program. He will begin his studies in September 2005. Santiago Creuheras, '01, ALM '00, married Carola Barcena in August 2003. He was appointed general coordinator in the Ministry of Social Development for the state government of Puebla, Mexico. Baris Merzeci, '01, is a senior business analyst for Liberty Mutual Group. He manages the communications services annual budget. Burcu Ozdemir, '01, is business manager for ÖZDEMŸR Certified Financial Consultants, Inc., and is listed in the 2001-02 International Who's Who of Professional Management. She is also a member of the Harvard Club of Turkey. In March 2004 she earned a BA in management of the performing arts and also a film director certificate from Istanbul Bilgi University. Mayder Viñarás Iglesias, '01, has worked for various perfume manufacturers, including Perfumeria Gal and Christian Dior, where she moved from junior to senior makeup product manager. Michelle Eldridge, '00, is a training manager at Genzyme Biosurgery. Previously, she was the operations manager responsible for the manufacturing of Carticel, a product used to repair cartilage defects in the knee. On a personal note, she has two children, aged 12 and five. Reynaldo Pasqua Filho, '00, is director of marketing for Carmim, a high-end Brazilian clothing line. W. Haack, '00, is a certified project manager and director representative for IBM. He has an important role in implementing IBM's effort to become CMM Level 5 this year. Bassam Kadry, '00, is a student at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. He plans to graduate in May 2005. Next year he plans to pursue a master's degree in health informatics at the University of Minnesota's Mayo Clinic as well as a residency in anesthesiology. Pedro Mucciolo, '00, works in Miami for the global communications company Burson-Marsteller. He is also pursuing an MBA in international business from the University of Miami. Yvethe Rodriguez, '00, has been the senior product manager for food preparation at Applica Consumer since March 2004. Luis Carlos Velez, '00, currently works for Citytv Bogota as an anchor and news director of Bogotá en Punto. He does six daily newscasts and Portafolio TV, the only business and economics TV show in the country. Gustavo Brusa, '99, is senior brand manager for Gillette Company, Boston. Olivier Carnohan, '99, was married in August 2004 and honeymooned in Sri-Lanka. He has started at Tucker Telecom, a company based in London and Boston. Maria R Garcia Castillo, '99, ALM '02, is teaching two courses at the Harvard Extension School: CSS E-412 and CSCI E-253. Ana Holanda, '99, previously held positions in Mexico with Boston Consulting Group and Grupo Desc. She now works for PepsiCo. Janitzia Manon, '99, is assistant vice president in the Latin America corporate division of Commercebank, NA, in Miami. She manages the portfolios of top-tier Mexican corporations and is currently pursuing an executive MBA at Duke University. Leonardo Valenca, '99, recently joined the corporate finance division of Embraco, part of the multinational division of Whirlpool Corporation. Karen Dechman, '98, was appointed vice president of communications of the Harvard Club of Virginia. She is also employed by John Tyler Community College in the student and community activities division. Alejandro Jordan Lorente, '98, is federal manager of Packserman, SL, the largest promotional marketing company in Madrid. The firm specializes in manufacturing all types of promotional packs for the consumer-market industry. Jeremiah K. Holly, '90, has completed his first year as institutional retirement product manager in the investment management group of Rockland Trust Company, Rockland, MA. He is responsible for business development, client consulting, and retirement plans for businesses in southeastern Massachusetts. George Frode, '90, started New Media Manufacturing, which provides overseas and domestic manufacturing to US publishers for specialty printing, packaging, and hand-assembly. Robyn Ochs, '87, is technology publications specialist in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at Harvard University. She was recently elected to the board of directors of Harvard's Gay and Lesbian Caucus. She is also a national speaker on issues of sexual orientation, identity, and marriage equality.
