No stranger to the Harvard community, Ms. Goodman completed her undergraduate degree with honors at Radcliffe in 1963, returned to the University in 1974 as a Nieman Fellow, and currently serves as a trustee of Radcliffe College. The author of six books, beginning with Close to Home in 1979, Ms. Goodman comments on the social questions of the day in her twice-weekly newspaper column. Her many honors include a Pulitzer Prize in 1980 and a Hubert H. Humphrey Civil Rights Award in 1988. She also holds several honorary degrees.
