Are you forgetting about the field of study and faculty advisor options?

Undergraduate degree candidates have the option of pursuing a focused field of study within their area of concentration, for example, biology, history, or English and American literature and language. Once the field of study is approved, candidates may request a faculty advisor with whom they can schedule a maximum of three advising meetings to receive advice about content-area course selection and future plans. However, only 5 percent of candidates choose this option. We wonder why this option is not more popular. Let us know at alb@hudce.harvard.edu.

In an effort to encourage more students to apply for a field of study, we are sharing two ALB candidates’ thoughtful reasons for choosing their fields of study, one in economics and the other in religion.
